Harajuku juxtaposition

The girls in the picture represent a trend most popular in the city of Tokyo. How the comfort in bright clothing came about I'm unsure of, but I do know based off of this picture, it is something of interest because someone took a photo of them.
The way the girls are positioned makes me think that they've taken a few pictures. I say that because they aren't focus on the photographer who has taken and posted the photo. Locals and a few tourist may hangout where the girls are standing. This could be a main attraction where people show off their latest harajuku wear.
One girl seems to be folding her arms, or clinching at something, while the other is relaxed, placing her weight on her umbrella. She could be folding her arms because it was a random shot while she was in movement, but everything around her is still. Her arms could also be folded because she's hungry and they were just on their way to get lunch after meeting up with a few friends. Maybe that was her first time on the strip. Her friend/sister/cousin...could have influenced her to go. After all the one with the umbrella is way more decorative than the other girl. She looks as if she's been on this stip many times before. She's comfortable in front of however many cameras that are in front of her, and her outfit demands attention. She also brought more accessories and toys than the other girl. Her hair is loud, which makes me think that she is confident and creative. The other girls brings off a more shy or quite tone. Most of her outfit are the same basic colours with few accessories.
The background takes place in a city. There are a few buildings in the back that appear to be hotels or places of business. The green building could be an apartment in the city, located closer to the main attractions and people in their area. It costs to have entertainment and shopping centers, which probably means that it's probably a little more expensive where they are located.
